Egg hunt at Grandma's

After the city hunt we drove over to my parents house and had an egg hunt with all of my family there. It was really fun because Jordan and her family came down for the weekend and we were glad to have McKay there with Aidan. They had a great time finding all the clues that led them to their final surprise from the Easter bunny. Afterwords Brett and Danny were nice to watch the boys while Jordan and I went out shopping with all the girls. It was a fun day- I'm always happy for any time I can spend with my family and especially when Jordan is here to be apart of it. On Sunday we had a really nice dinner at my parents house with everyone. It was a great weekend to end a really busy week/month. I am finally done with all my recitals/festivals and am happy to report that February and March have not completely done me in, like I was sure they would. I'm looking forward to less stress!



How many adults does it take to find an Easter egg?


Aidan loved "reading" the clues- it was so cute. He'd read them just like I had been only saying the places he had already been.

I love this picture. The boys loved Danny tickling them at the same time. They would laugh and scream until they were blue in the face.

City Egg Hunt

After the boys got their baskets, we walked over to the baseball fields by our house for the city egg hunt. Both our pediatrician and dentist are (or were) in our ward, and their offices sponsored the event so it was fun to go over and be apart of it. We had just got our new double stroller (the kind where the toddler can stand on the back instead of having 2 full seats- cool!) so I was excited to walk over and try it out. It was a sunny morning and didn't seem too cold so we just slipped on our jackets and left, but the weather was deceiving and it was freezing by the time we got there. The boys were so miserable. They were both crying and Aidan was begging to go home so we hurried and got our eggs and ran home. Maybe we'll skip that one next year if Easter is in March again. :)

Easter Saturday

Here's a few pictures of the boys waking up Saturday morning to discover that the Easter bunny had paid them a visit. Aidan was so excited and Ethan was more interested in putting everything from his basket into his mouth.

 

 

 

 

Ethan...

I just wanted to make a little note about how in love I am with this baby of mine. He has pretty much been continually sick since January when he first got RSV and has had problems with asthma since. To top it off, I took him in this week for another check on his lungs and he has an ear infection in each ear. He has been such a trooper through it all and is always happy and loving and still making us smile. Brett gave him a blessing over the weekend along with my dad and brothers and I'm so grateful for the priesthood and gospel in our lives. I know that he will be a strong little boy and that his sweet, calm disposition will help him through all of it. Here's a couple cute pictures.

 

 

"Mom, I'm sorry I pulled Jesus' fire alarm..."

Yes folks, you heard me right. Aidan pulled the fire alarm at church yesterday. Luckily all the blocks were finished. I had stayed after to run through a musical number that I'm accompanying for Enrichment on Thursday and since Brett was home with Ethan, Aidan was pretty much left to his own devices. I was trying to pay attention to him while practicing and was already frustrated that the people singing didn't even know their parts and needed to practice without me first when all of the sudden the alarm went off. I'm surprised he was able to reach it- why wouldn't they place it higher on the wall? On the way out of the room to check the alarm I also noticed that he had drawn on the chalk board with a dry erase marker in the relief society room. Sigh. So we scrubbed the marker off the chalkboard and our practice was put to an end quickly- thank goodness. I was not happy- it sounds funny now but it was pretty much the hit the wall moment for me that week. As we were getting in the car, the whole brigade pulled up- 2 firetrucks, with about 5 men each, a volunteer SUV and an ambulance. I drove over to the first firetruck and asked them if any of them wanted to explain to a 3 year old why we don't pull the alarm. They laughed that he was only 3 and came over to the car and told him not to pull it again. Then they rewarded his behavior with a sticker and called him an honorary fireman. Fabulous. :) It was ok- he felt really bad and the alarm really scared him so I was really glad they were nice about it. On the way home I was really quiet and he said, "Mom, I'm sorry I pulled Jesus' fire alarm." Sweet boy.

Here we go again...

Ethan is so sick- again. Last Saturday he came down with the cold and cough that Aidan had had the week before and by that night he was really not sounding good, so we took him to the Dr. who confirmed that his RSV/bronchial stuff was back. Back to 1am breathing treatments. He has been so miserable this week and to make matters worse, he finally cut his first tooth so he's been running fevers and crying all day long. Yesterday I really started to worry that he wasn't responding to the treatments as well as last time and since he wasn't sleeping and was constantly crying (both very uncharacteristic) we decided to take him in again. Because I can't cancel lessons right now, Brett came home early to take him and imagine my surprise when they got home and Brett said that he's actually improved dramatically and that his lungs sound great so we can stop waking him up at night to do the treatments and just do them during the day. I'm not real sure of my parenting skills- I think he's getting worse but he's actually getting better. Then last night he started running a fever again and woke up at 2 am and threw up all over me. :) Now I think he has the flu that has been going around. Whatever it is, he's miserable and I could REALLY use some sleep. :) Poor guy.

Tax season...

If piano teachers were accountants then this would be our tax season too. I have been so busy with teaching because we have festivals, recitals, competitions, ect.. coming up and so my days are filled with tedious nit-picking and extra rehearsals on the weekends. It's all very rewarding when it is over but in the mean time I have been extremely busy and worn out, which leaves little time to blog. We did manage to get away 2 Saturdays ago, though, for a fun afternoon of sledding with my family. I have been getting so stir crazy with this cold, snowy weather and it felt great to get out, be in the sun and laugh. We had such a fun time!



We were so tickled with how brave Aidan was- he was so excited to go down, he'd barely sit there long enough for us to help him. He only took 1 big spill that hurt, but still went down one more time by himself before we left. He had SOOOO much fun!


Aidan was so funny when Joseph or Brett pulled him up because he wouldn't sit up in the sled. It was like he was strapped down in the gurney. :)



Yes we fit 5 people in a 3 person sled. And yes, EVERY bump left us with sore bums! Still fun, though!
