More Ethan...

We have had a good week at home- we are starting to feel settled and are getting into somewhat of a routine. I have been so grateful to have my mom and Jordan here with me everyday this week, helping me get around and not cry all day long. They have been such a big help with the boys- I don't know how I'll do this by myself. :) Ethan is such a sweet boy and sleeps all day long except from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. Last night we all got to bed by midnight and he gave us 3-4 hour blocks of time to sleep. We woke up feeling so great! Funny how having a baby changes what a good night sleep means. Aidan is adjusting well- he loves Ethan and is very sweet to sing him songs and read him books when he gets upset. We are in the terrible 3's for sure now (shouldn't that it least wait until he turns 3?) but he's settled down a lot since we 1st got home and we are happy with how he is doing. We are excited to be heading to the Oregon Coast for a family reunion on Thursday. We feel like we're pretty crazy because we'll be in the car most of the day on Thursday and Friday, be there till Sunday and drive home Sunday and Monday. More days of car time than vacation time, but we're still excited to go and are especially looking forward to Aidan having a good distraction. I physically feel so much better after having Ethan than I did with Aidan so I think if I can get a grip on my emotions/hormones, we should have a pretty good trip. :)

We've Been Busy!

I am glad to finally have a minute to sit down and update this- the last couple weeks have been packed full! Becca's brother, Joseph, got married to the sweetest girl in the world, Juliana James, on June 23rd. We are so happy to have her in the family and Becca is thrilled to have a sister nearby! Their wedding and reception were very beautiful and we had a great time. Becca was a bridesmaid and was happy to be able to look like the other bridesmaids in their cute dresses, despite being 9 months pregnant. Aidan looked so grown up in his tie- I can't believe how fast the time is going.

The following week, Aidan and Becca took Mom and Me swimming lessons with Jordan and McKay. We had such a good time! This was our second year doing swimming lessons and Aidan did such a good job! He's very comfortable in the water and did a good job blowing bubbles under the water, after jumping in, and lying on his back with his ears in the water (practicing to float). On the last day he was so brave and jumped off the diving board, even though he was nervous! We were so proud of him! I loved being in the water because I didn't feel any of the aches and pains of pregnancy- too bad we all don't have private pools, right?

Our next fun day was the 4th of July. We got up early and went to watch the parade in Provo, with Becca's family. Aidan enjoyed it- but you have to get there so early that he was pretty much ready for a nap by the time it started. That afternoon we went boating on Utah Lake with Juli's family. Aidan and Brett had a great time- I got horrible motion sickness and was sick the whole time. Not fun, but I'm still glad we got to go. Juli's dad is so great with Aidan and let him drive the boat half of the trip, which Aidan just loved. Brett had a great time on the tube behind the boat, with Anson. They got knocked off a few times and they had a blast. After boating, we came back to my parents for a BBQ and fireworks. We were all exhausted at the end of the day, but had a great time!

Well, I've posted a ton of pictures and could've done a ton more, but that gives you a taste of what we've been up to! As you can see from the pictures, I look ready to pop and I feel it even more. The Dr. is inducing me on Wednesday (the 11th) and yesterday my mom came over and helped me clean the house all day so now I'm ready! We are anxious and excited to finally get to meet our new little one. I think Aidan senses that things are changing and talks about Baby Ethan all day. Today we are having a "fun" day with Aidan to enjoy our last little bit of time as our family of 3. We're off to the swimming pool! We will be sure to post pictures of the new little one soon!

ITS OFFICIAL!!!!!

Becca has progressed sufficiently for the doctor to schedule an induction. We are scheduled to go the hospital July 11, 2007. However Becca is feeling some random contractions and thinks she may go even sooner. We will keep you all posted but its getting closer and closer and everyone in the house can't wait. Even Aidan asked today "Where's baby Efan (Ethan)?"

Baby will be here soon!

We thought we'd try our hand at the blog thing so that we can keep you up date with everything new that is happening.
Aidan is anxiously waiting for his new brother to be born! We are going to name the baby Ethan Michael and his due date is July 16th but our doctor promises that if all goes well he will induce Becca a week early. We are really hoping to be able to go to Becca's family reunion on the Oregon Coast, which is 10 days after her due date, so we are hoping for a little more time between those two events to recover. Aidan is great with babies and seems very excited. Mom and Dad are a little stressed but really this pregnancy has gone by so fast. We are both very excited to meet the newest member of the family.

Aidan on Easter Sunday

Joseph, Becca's brother, gets married this Saturday, the 23rd. Juli is wonderful and everyone is thrilled to have her join the family. We hoped through all of Joseph's mission that Juli would still be around when he got home, and were excited to have them get engaged quickly. We are happy that they will be living close by- we just wish we could get Jordan's (Becca's sister) family closer too. We are looking forward to the wedding festivities and Becca is happy that she could get the bridesmaid dress altered well for being 9 months pregnant. :)

Becca just finished giving her 1st week long summer piano camp for her students and is happy that it went so well. The kids all had a good time and it was such a good way to get in a month worth of lessons in a week. Now she is cramming in one more month of lessons over the rest of June to 1st week of July and then will be done teaching for the summer. She is really looking forward to having some time off to be with Aidan and the new baby and hopefully get some kind of schedule going before coming back in September. In the fall she will have the largest studio she's ever had (28 students) which is exciting and overwhelming at the same time. We are looking into different child care options to help with the boys and hope that everything will run smoothly.

Becca and Aidan at the Easter egg hunt in the park

We are in full blown "nesting", as evidenced by the 8 hours I spent in the basement. Aidan and Ethan will share a room and Becca has been busy getting it ready, realizing that not everything will probably get done before the baby comes, which is ok. She is looking forward to some cleaning help from her mom and Jordan, when Jordan is down for the wedding. I have been told that I get the fun jobs like cleaning the oven, fridge, stove, ect....

I am going to school this summer and have actually really enjoyed my class. I am taking an "Integrated Approach" to the Weimar Republic and have found it very interesting. I am finishing class next Wednesday and start a new one on Friday. I am also taking a math class online and working on my capstone project for my degree. 9 credits in the fall and I will be DONE!

Playing at Grandma and Papa's

Aidan's favorite place to play is by far outside and Grandma and Papa's house is no different. We can't even get inside the house before Aidan's states his intentions to "stay outside." Outside includes slides, swings, dogs, horses, and dirt so really how could inside compete?
